We treked for 5 days up to the Lost City and made it back to “civilization.” I now have internet access to a world wide web of news. I can check to see if our prayers for world peace are answered ?
Humm, did the New York Times miss it ? Or did God not hear us ? It looks like bombs and guns and drones are still killing people. What went wrong ?
Well, I think we all know that the world peace we were praying for does not mean a worldwide absence of war. Jesus said that war would not go away (Mat.28:6). What we are actually praying for is a world where people can live at peace with their neighbors, where there can be harmony among ethnic groups and all people receive the dignity and respect that they were created to have. A world where people are free to know and serve the Prince of Peace.
So again, it looks like our work is not finished. We need to keep climbing and praying. We have finished one trek. We have left the Colombian mountain and are resting at a conference center in Villa de Leyva. It once was a convent and has a beautiful chapel.
So our climb for peace goes on. . . .
